Well, here we are. I am at the summit of turning 30. In three years, I’ll be at the peak.
And the question that has plagued me relentlessly since the season changed from fall to winter — a time perfect for self- reflection — is:
What do I want to accomplish in the next three years?
I’ve decided to write a book about urban farming with children, sort of a guide for beginners and parents to permaculture and homesteading.
Tied into that are a few goals:
- I want to build community in the suburban neighborhood where I now live.
- I want to learn more about plant science.
- I want to deepen my own homesteading and permaculture practices, essentially learning hands on how to best farm this urban sprawl.
So, there you have it. I plan to set myself up for an exhilarating climb to another decade marker. And when I get there? Well, who knows.
First I have to get there. And, um, write more. That was my fitting new year’s resolution.
